The inspiration for this series is a patchwork quilt, primarily the Grandmother’s Flower Garden pattern, with the beauty of each of these evident as a group and on their own. With the names of each piece a nod toward her female ancestors and the series a reflection on her other love—sewing—Allyson creates miniature paintings that represent generations of creativity, and honor the inspiring women in her life.
