A Conduit for Good

The “heart of the lion” is evident throughout Coupeville—from the Kitchen Shelter near the Town Pavilion to benches dotting the walkways of this historic community.
Upon entering the town, visitors are greeted with a welcome sign that proudly bears the Lions Club emblem.
“Our motto is, ‘we serve,’” said Club president Sandee Allen. “Within our organization, we have a lot of retired people with energy and experience in life and they know that giving is where they find peace and where they feel fulfillment. It gives you positive energy that you share with others.” It’s energy that’s been in motion since the club’s chartering in 1938.
“We want the community to have support and know somebody has got its back,” said Allen. “It’s about having a group you know is trying to make the community the best place it can be.”
